Does aliasing have anything to do with OON standards?
I think it should be left up to the library developer
to determine how aliases are detected and what kind of warning
or advice should be given to the application programmer.
The library developer should be free to determine what,
if any, options or directives will be provided
to turn optimizations on or off. Bob Tisdale
