Subscription requests have levelled off. We have 51 people signed up
for the list.

It might be helpful to know what sorts of libraries are being
constructed.

Could one person from each development effort send me a quick note
to say (a) the name of your project (b) what kind of library you're
working on (e.g. linear algebra, sparse matrices, finite element,
extended precision) and (c) who the target users are (the community
at large/your own organization/your research group/etc.). Please
send me email rather than posting to the list; my address is
<tveldhui@monet.uwaterloo.ca>.

I'll summarize the results. The aim of the exercise is to determine
which areas are most in need of standardization efforts, and also so
I can check the list of known libraries to see who isn't represented.

Also, if you have general thoughts or a position statement to make,
please feel free to post these to the list by sending email to
<oonstd@monet.uwaterloo.ca>.

Cheers,
Todd
